Our Story

Trusted Senior Living Guidance Starts With Experience

When someone you love needs more care, knowing where to turn can make all the difference.

At Senior Care Relations, we believe families deserve more than a list of senior living communities. They deserve personal guidance from someone who understands the industry, listens to their concerns, and helps them make informed decisions.

Founded by Peter Hayes, an experienced senior living advisor and licensed Nursing Home Administrator, Senior Care Relations helps individuals and families throughout Southwest Virginia navigate senior living options with greater clarity and confidence.

Why We Started

The Heart Behind Senior Care Relations

Choosing senior living for yourself or someone you love can be overwhelming. Understanding the differences between assisted living, independent living, memory care, and nursing homes is only the beginning.

While working in senior living communities, Peter saw families struggling to navigate the process on their own. They contacted multiple communities, repeated their loved one’s circumstances, and tried to compare care levels, services, and costs without always knowing which questions to ask.

He recognized a need for something more personal: an experienced advisor who could listen, explain the options, and help families move forward with confidence.

That understanding inspired Senior Care Relations.

Today, our purpose remains simple: to educate families, help them explore appropriate senior care options, and provide compassionate support throughout the decision-making process.

We also believe the right living environment can improve quality of life. With appropriate care, opportunities for connection, and a supportive community, older adults can maintain independence and continue enjoying meaningful experiences.

Our goal is to make the process of finding that support easier for families.

Experience You Can Trust

Meet Peter Hayes, Founder and Senior Living Advisor

Founder & President, Senior Care Relations

Licensed Nursing Home Administrator · Assisted Living Administrator · 12+ Years of Senior Care Experience · Radford University Graduate

Peter Hayes is the founder and president of Senior Care Relations, serving families throughout the New River Valley, Roanoke Valley, and surrounding Southwest Virginia communities.

With more than 12 years of experience in senior care, Peter brings firsthand knowledge of how senior living communities operate and what families should consider when evaluating care options.

A graduate of Radford University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, concentrating in marketing, Peter began his career managing a small, privately operated assisted living community.

He later earned licensure as both an assisted living administrator and a nursing home administrator, expanding his career into leadership roles overseeing larger senior living communities serving hundreds of residents.

His professional experience includes assisted living, memory care, and long-term care. Having worked directly in the operations of senior living communities, Peter understands the importance of staffing, services, care levels, resident needs, and the everyday factors that contribute to quality of life.

Today, he brings that experience to families seeking senior living guidance.

Rather than simply providing names of communities, Peter takes time to understand each family’s circumstances, explain available options, and help them evaluate which choices may best meet their needs.

How Peter Helps Families

Experienced Guidance Makes a Difference

Rather than simply providing a list of senior living communities, Peter takes the time to get to know each family and the person they love. He listens to their concerns, learns about their personality, interests, daily routines, and preferences, and considers what matters most to their quality of life.

Because finding the right senior living community isn’t just about the level of care or services offered. It’s also about finding a place where someone will feel comfortable, connected, and genuinely happy.

By combining his firsthand experience in senior living operations with a personal understanding of each family’s needs, Peter helps identify communities that offer not only appropriate care, but also the environment, lifestyle, and sense of belonging that make a community feel like home.

ROOTED IN SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA

More Than Finding Care. Finding Community.

Senior Care Relations is based in the New River Valley and helps families throughout Southwest Virginia, including Christiansburg, Blacksburg, Radford, Pulaski, Roanoke, Salem, and surrounding communities.

Peter understands that choosing a senior living community isn’t just about finding the right level of care. It’s also about finding a place where your loved one can build relationships, enjoy meaningful activities, feel a sense of belonging, and continue living a fulfilling life.

That’s why he takes the time to understand each person’s personality, interests, daily routines, and preferences. A community that works well for one person may not be the best fit for another.

By combining his firsthand experience in senior living operations with knowledge of local communities, Peter helps families look beyond services and amenities to consider where their loved one will feel most comfortable, supported, and at home.

Because the right choice isn’t just about where someone will receive care. It’s about where they can continue to enjoy life.
